Happy New Month Everyone! and Happy 3rd Month Anniversary of this Website/blog!!!

I pray that it will be a month full of new beginnings, peace, love and joy in abundance for all in Jesus name. Amen ❤

 

First things first, I would like to sincerely apologise for dropping off the radar without any warning, especially to those who don’t follow me on any of my social media platforms. PLEASE FORGIVE ME.

I AM REALLY VERY AND TRULY SORRY MY DARLINGS. I won’t do it again, I promise. At the very worst if I’m going to seemingly be a ghost, I will give y’all a heads up next time. E jor, ma binu.

So, why was I quiet you ask after the first week of January after MY LAST POST ? Well, I was participating in a corporate 21-day prayer and fasting programme with the other women in my church.

The Holy Spirit led me to literally not do so much from Saturday the 6th of January till the fast ended on Friday the 26th. It was a time of refreshing and strengthening of my Soul and Spirit mostly.

Right from the first day of the year, I sensed in my spirit that 2018 will be a year of ease and effortless grace. Things that we’ve struggled with in the past are going to yield this year without any struggle at all. Think of how hard it is to push a trolley in the sand, now imagine pushing that same trolly on smooth, tiled floors.

Easy, breezy, beautiful! 😊

 

 

During the fast, on Friday 19th January, the Holy Spirit led me to read a book by John Bevere, titled “The Bait of Satan”

In my mind, I was like “This guy has come again o. Why does He want me to read this book again? I’m not offended na, or have I offended someone? I’ve read it na, biko I just wanna sleep or plan or do something else, oh gosh…”

As Y’all know The Holy Spirit is very patient and gentle. He ignored my grumbling and just kept nudging me to read it. Anyways I started early in the morning that day and by the end of the day, I was done (I read fast plus the book is not all that long). As I read the book (again) I realised I was in fact offended (but I didn’t know it. Like seriously). So the thing about being gifted and powerful spiritually speaking is you can still manifest and shine your light brightly and all people will be seeing is that God-given glory manifesting but God created us, He knows us intimately, He knows what makes us tick, He knows and Oh how He loves us so.

 

 

He knew that on the day I launched this site on the 1st of November last year, I got a phone call that offended my spirit deep down to my core but because that call came in a few hours before I was supposed to launch, once it was over I swung into action and its been a whirlwind of awesome activity ever since then. Blogging, Organising, Designing, Creating, Social Media posts, Writing, talking about God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, making new friends, etc.

 

 

So essentially I didn’t notice, I didn’t realise that my soul had been battered, I had been blindsided, but I continued. This is what the bible means when it says “It’s not by might, it’s not by power, but by my, Spirit says the Lord” LOL!

 

 

It didn’t also help that the next month was December, a crazy, heightened, festive period with plenty of activities that accompany the Christmas season each year. I WAS ON FIRE or so I thought.

I really wasn’t operating in my own strength, spiritually speaking in terms of running the site and keeping on top of things.

My Spirit was alive and active through the grace, power and Word of God but my soul was tired, exhausted and battered and yet I did not know. In case you don’t know, the soul is the part of our bodies that houses our emotions, will, mind.

 

 

For those of you who know me, by now you should know I’m generally a lively playful spirit, with a butterfly-like personality, lighthearted, smiling, laughing, joking but my soul is ancient, old like my Heavenly Father. I think deeply about A LOT of things, sometimes too deep and if I don’t watch where my thoughts are headed this can quickly down spiral to worry which leads to anxiety and then on some really dark days, it’s a negative path to depression.

 

 

If you need some biblical context trying to understand what I’m on about, let’s take a quick journey a few thousand years ago to the story of Elijah. The mighty man of God who SINGLE HANDEDLY defeated 400 fake prophets of the god Baal. This guy called down fire from heaven and God answered him and then afterwards proceeded to destroy the fake prophets. WOW! What a victory!!!

 

 

Elijah suppose enter one club somewhere and pop some bottles and celebrate with his prophet friends abi? Right???

Wrong!!!!

Guess what he does next?  He runs away!!!

Why? Because of ONE SINGLE WOMAN. Queen Jezebel who threatened his life. So he runs away and he tells God this work way you send me, I no dey do again (God I don’t wanna do this no more! It haff tire me.)

Why you ask, did Elijah have this meltdown after such a MASSIVE VICTORY?

Is it because he was afraid of Jezebel? Heck no. If God can deal with 400 fake prophets, what is one woman? Like seriously? 🙄

ELIJAH WAS TIRED!

HE WAS EXHAUSTED!!! (Because human!)

Guess what God did next, He put him to sleep, then he fed him, then he put him to sleep again, then he talked to him as a still small voice, then he sent him on a new assignment with an assistant (Elisha). Reference Scripture 1 Kings 18: 16 to 1 Kings 19:18 

 

 

So what does this have to do with me? The same (minus the threatening of my life part) By January I started to realise I was exhausted. I entered this new year with a big bang as usual but even though I didn’t attend any parties or concerts in December (apart from The Experience) I was knackered. So guess what God did, He led me beside still waters and He restored my soul. (Psalm 23) Literally. The 21 days of fasting and prayer did wonders to my spirit that I tried to describe Through This Instagram Post

God needed to get me alone, refresh me, feed me solid food (the meat of His Word) and strengthen and refresh me spiritually.

 

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15a NIV

 

 

He needed to make sure I was ok, in Body, Soul and Spirit before I can continue this Ministry. He needed to renew my mind and give me fresh eyes to see the future and the hope of his calling and that indeed ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR MY GOOD and that HE IS INTENTIONAL AND HE IS NEVER FAILING.

 

These are a few notes I made while I read “The Bait of Satan”

 

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalms 119:165 KJV

 

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:3 NIV

 

A believer who chooses to delight in the Word of God in the midst of adversity will avoid being offended. That person will be like a tree whose roots search deep to where the spirit provides strength and nourishment. He will draw from the wells of God deep within his spirit. This will mature him to the point where adversity will now be the catalyst for fruit.

 

What God reveals by His spirit cannot be taken from us. This must be the foundation of all we do. Without it we will easily be offended by trials and tribulations that blindside us.

 

Strenght, stability and power are in the rock of the revealed word of God and there is fruit in the life of a person who receives it. That person is made strong with the strenght of the one who is the living Word of God, Jesus Christ.

 

Be sure that you build your life on God’s revealed Word, not what others say. Keep seeking the Lord and listening to your heart. Don’t do or say things just because everyone else does. Seek Him and stand on what is illuminated in your heart!

 

When the enemy shakes, it is to destroy but God has a different purpose.

 

At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

Hebrews 12:26‭-‬27 NIV

 

We are to be rooted and grounded in love. Our love for God is our foundation. We cannot lay down our lives for someone we do not trust. We cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must know and understand the nature and character of God. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. What may look like a disappointment to us will always turn out for our good IF WE DO NOT LOSE FAITH. God is love. There is no selfishness or evil in Him. It is Satan who desires to destroy us.

 

When you know that God would never do anything to harm or destroy you and whatever He does or does not do in your life is in your best interest, then you give yourself freely to Him. You will gladly be the one to lay down your life for the Master.

 

If you truly love and believe on Him, you will have to fight to stay free from offense, realising his ways are always higher than yours. Also if you are going to obey the spirit of God, people will be offended by you. Some will not understand as you love with the Spirit. Don’t allow their unpleasant response to deter you from what you know in your heart is true. Don’t abort the flow of the Spirit for the desires of me. When you live for the will of God, you will not fulfill the desires of men, as a result you will suffer in the flesh. Jesus suffered his greatest opposition from the religious leaders.

 

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
1 Peter 4:12‭-‬13 NIV

 

 

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:9‭-‬11 NIV

 

 

The love of God is the key to freedom from the baited trap of offense. An abounding love that continually grows and is strengthened in our hearts.

 

KEY Scriptures the Holy Spirit gave me to meditate on in the month of January.

 

 

  1. FOR SPIRITUAL STRENGTH

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, Ephesians 3:16 NIV

 

I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. Ephesians 3:16 MSG

 

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people Ephesians 1:17‭-‬18 NIV

 

I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! Ephesians 1:17‭-‬18 MSG

 

 

2. WORRY & ANXIETY

 

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16‭-‬17 NIV

 

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1‭-‬2 MSG

 

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life. Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. Philippians 4:6‭-‬9 MSG

 

So its safe to say 2018 is indeed going to be a year full of joy, supernatural strength and power.

 

 

If anyone or anything tries to offend you this year, quickly recognise, forgive and move on with these two scriptures at the back of your mind.

Have a beautiful day and remember the enjoyment of life is in the process/journey and not necessarily always the final destination.
